The Electric Bird is my first selfmade instrument. The sound engine are two 4046 VCO`s. The pitch is controlled by a 7 step binary sequencer (4024). You can detune the two VCO`s. For the generation of the clock signal a CMOS 40106 is used.

Each step of the sequence can be switched on or off. Each step has its own potentiometer for the Control Voltage and a switcheable capacitor for portamento.

Caused by the binary counter, you can create nice rhythmic patterns and also pseudo random like sequences.

In addition to all that, you can route the audiosignals through the comparator of the 4046 chip or through a very simple lowpassfilter.
