Useful_Updates I call a collection of softtoys, that I have upgraded into small electronic music instruments. I usually buy them at flea markets or in secondhand shops. Sometimes I also rescue them from the streets or the thrashbin. The chosen fews then have to undergo an operation. I make them ready for the cyberage.

The generation of the sound is made with CMOS chips like the 40106, 4093 and the 4046. For the amplification of the sounds I use a TL082 OpAmp and a 50 Ω loudspeaker.

The modulators are always squarewave oscillators, made with a 40106.

For the interactive interface, I use:

photo sensitive resistors

metal plates or antennas as points of body contact (to use the natural electronic resistance of the human body)

tilt switches

Sometimes these methods are combined.

There is no more technical Information on the specific sites of each useful_update, unless there is something special about it.

If you want to buy one of these lovely fellows or if you want to have your own one updated, get in contact with me.
